GLL is looking for a Cycle Coach to work at Maindy Centre.

The Cycle Coach will support the coaching team in the delivery and facilitation of coached sessions across cycle sport to include BMX, MTB and track sessions.

Cycle Coaches will offer practical delivery of sessions as a facilitator and a coach which will be key components of the role, supporting sessions with kit preparation and stock monitoring and control in liaison with the lead coaches and centre management team.

  • A British Cycling Level 2 Coaching Award in either of BMX and MTB and a willingness to qualify in the remainder.
  • A current, valid first aid certificate (minimum 2 day outdoor first aid or equivalent).
  • A willingness and ability to obtain a British Cycling Level 2 Coaching Award in track cycling (if not already held).
  • A willingness to obtain a British Cycling Mountain Bike Leadership Award (if not already held).
  • A drivers licence and a willingness to obtain business insurance for cross site working at the Platt Fields BMX Track and any associated outreach work.

What you'll do:

  • To assist in the delivery of cycle sport coaching sessions across all three disciplines delivered at the National Cycling Centre (NCC) and Platt Fields Park BMX Track.
  • To assist in increasing usage of the HSBCUK National Cycling Centre cycle sport programmes.
  • To support the coaching team by facilitating coached sessions.
  • To lead coached sessions where appropriate to do so.
  • To respond to the cycle sport programme demands and effectively manage time and tasks accordingly in liaison with the Lead BMX & MTB Coach.
  • To effectively support events and activities on and off site as appropriate to the role.
  • To support club officials, coaches and volunteers where appropriate.
