The Role
As a part of the leadership team of the Digital Research Infrastructure, you will oversee a team of IT professionals collaborating to provide secure research networks, storage systems, and technology solutions to meet researcher needs.

You will collaborate closely with other Discipline Leads in the Digital Research Infrastructure and Computational & Data Intensive Sciences to ensure strategic alignment in planning and service delivery. Engaging with researchers, you will shape network and storage service provision to enhance offerings.

Key Duties:

  • Lead innovation in research networks and storage platforms.
  • Manage day-to-day delivery of research networks and storage infrastructure.
  • Foster a high-performing team of technology professionals.
  • Collaborate with Discipline Leader High Performance Computing (HPC) Services.
  • Work closely with Architecture and Service Delivery.
  • Enhance technical capabilities and service offerings.
  • Ensure security and integrity of classified networks and storage.
  • Mentor staff in various skills development.
  • Manage vendor relationships.
About our Team
The Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) team enables Defence science and technology research by offering scientific computing infrastructure and supporting digital research environments. The DRI provides secure digital research infrastructure where sovereignty is essential for Defence S&T capabilities.

Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal Discipline Leader for Research Networks and Storage will be a seasoned leader capable of managing a secure infrastructure system. They should be a communicator and collaborator who can understand customer requirements and align resources accordingly. The right candidate will demonstrate flexibility, agility, and provide guidance to the team aligning with Defence's needs and direction.
