About the Role
The UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is seeking a talented Electronics Engineer to join our team at the UK Astronomy Technology Centre. As a Graduate Electronics Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge electronics systems for astronomical instruments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electronics systems for astronomical instruments, including optical and near-infrared detector systems, image data analysis, and instrument control.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, scientists, and project managers, to deliver electronics work modules to the project schedule.
- Develop skills in analogue and digital electronics design, circuit analysis, PCB design, and embedded programming.
- Work on a range of multi-disciplined projects, including complex optical and infra-red detectors, vacuum-cryogenics, control electronics, and software.
- Contribute to the development of innovative technology across all engineering disciplines, including collaboration with academic and industrial partners around the world.
Requirements
- Achieved, or be on course to achieve, a minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant field of study.
- Have the right to live and work in the UK at the time of starting employment.
- Obtained first degree Bachelors or Masters in electronics engineering.
- Knowledge of analogue and digital electronics design, circuit analysis, PCB design, and embedded programming.
- Strong communication, organisational, and presentational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Sound technical awareness and creative problem-solving competency.
