Therapy Practice Education Facilitator

We currently have an opportunity for a band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our recently formed OT-PT Leadership Team.

We are a small team that supports Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy placement practice educators and students on placement at STH through the delivery and facilitation of learning activities.

You would also have the opportunity to be a placement educator for students on Leadership Placements.

The postholder will be line managed by the therapy practice development lead.

Please note this advertisement can be appointed as either a full time or part time opportunity.


This role leads on the design planning and facilitation of training interventions; the managing of the quality of the clinical learning environment; and the monitoring of training compliance with the ability to provide compliance reports periodically and when requested.

The role holder is part of a collaborative team of Therapy Practice Education Facilitators.

The role holder will facilitate and support, educational and development activities for learners, mentors, and practice educators/assessors within the Trust.

They will also support clinical education strategies that increase the number of placements and achieve a high-quality placement provision, in line with the Health and Care Professions (HCPC) requirements.

The role holder will be responsible for keeping up to date with national and regional developments.

This includes opportunities to work across organisational boundaries including Higher Education Institutions and South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Integrated Care Board.

The role holder will be passionate about supporting the development of professional skills and sharing best practice with peers. They will enhance both the learning opportunities and support strategies for students and their practice-based educators.


This role would be line managed by the therapy practice development lead and be part a focused and expanding team to support the delivery of excellent quality student placements and experience at STH.

The role would work with educators and teams across acute and community services at STH and have key relationships with placement leads at Sheffield Hallam University.
