Job Description:

In the heart of the ship lies the engine room, where all the action happens. Our training program will equip you with the skills to operate and maintain the ship's main engines and mechanical equipment. You'll have the opportunity to learn at maritime college and at sea, gaining knowledge in workshop skills, engineering science, marine electrical systems, and more.

During your time at sea, you'll be working day shifts and assisting with watchkeeping in the engine room. This will involve tasks such as engine maintenance, inspecting components, and ensuring the safety of all personnel in the engine room. Safety is a top priority when dealing with large machinery.

Upon completion of the training program, you'll obtain a UK foundation degree or college diploma in marine operations, a seafarer's license, and an engineer watchkeeping officer certificate of competency from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).

Minimum Entry Level Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old by 1st September 2024
- British citizenship and a British passport required
- Successful completion of an industry-standard medical examination for sea placement

Minimum Qualifications:
- 4 GCSE's - Grade 4 (C) or above, including English, Maths, and Science

What will you gain after completion of the program:
Depending on your existing qualifications:
- Completion of a Level 3 Deck Shipping & Maritime Operations Diploma for those with GCSE as the highest education
- Completion of a BSc (Hons) in Marine Engineering for those with relevant A levels or equivalent qualifications
