A leading, international Business Services firm head quartered in the US is looking to hire a Senior Finance Manager to head up its European Finance Function.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Finance professional to take complete ownershipof the European Financial operations and lead the associated team.

The role will initially be for a 6 month FTC.


Applicants will need to have strong man management & interpersonal skills and be able to develop and maintain relationships with key members of the administrative and back-office staff, but also the leadership team.

You will also supervise and help managethe career path of the London based Finance team including goal/objective setting and designing frameworks for these to be met

Duties will involve:

  • Manage relationships with local accounting and tax advisors, including external auditors, to ensure timely and accurate completion of statutory accounts, income tax and VAT tax returns in each European jurisdiction
  • Analyse European actual performance compared to the prior period data as well as budget and provide insights to Global Corporate Controller and Chief Financial Officer
  • Prepare materials needed for the annual group audit or quarterly review
  • Manage the performance of the Company's monthly and quarterly financial close in Europe
  • Review and certify monthly account reconciliations
  • Perform and review internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley/PCAOB standards (SOX)
  • Resolve escalated issues arising from operations requiring coordination with other departments and countries


Applicants will need to be qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of years post qualified experience in a similar international finance function and possess a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in accounting and/or finance.

Proven experience managing and developing staff is essential.

Strong technical accounting experience is key including working knowledge of US GAAP and PCAOB standards for US registered companies combined with solid understanding of European statutory accountingand tax reporting requirements.
