We are seeking a Retail Merchandising assistant to join our team. They will play a key role in helping the department deliver sales and maximize profitability through effective inventory management and strategic planning.

Responsibilities:

1. Budgeting & Planning:

§ Maintain merchandise budgets in alignment with company objectives and financial targets.

§ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver merchandise plans for each week, season or period.

2. WSSI and line cards:

§ Utilise and maintain WSSI and line cards to monitor and analyse sales, inventory levels, and intake, ensuring optimal stock availability and turnover.

3. Stock Management & FTS:

§ Assist and coordinate stock management processes, including replenishment, transfers, and allocation to ensure adequate stock levels across all channels.

§ Manage stock 'free to sell' processes to optimise inventory flow, minimize stockouts and support wholesale sales.

4. Sales Forecasting & Allocations:

§ Utilise sales data and market trends to forecast future sales and plan inventory allocations accordingly.

§ Allocate merchandise to stores based on sales forecasts, store profiles, and inventory levels.

5. Terminal Stock Management & Option Planning:

§ Minimise terminal stock and develop strategies to minimize excess inventory and markdowns.

§ Plan product options and assortments based on sales trends, customer preferences, and market demand.

6. Reporting:

§ Prepare and present weekly, quarterly, and seasonal reports to track sales performance, inventory metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

§ Analyse sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

7. ERP and POS Management:

§ Maintain and update the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting.

§ Maintain POS (Point of Sale) systems and troubleshoot any issues related to transaction processing and inventory management.

8. Price and Promotion Management:

§ Maintain and update pricing strategies and promotions to drive sales and achieve margin targets.

§ Monitor competitor pricing and promotional activity to remain competitive in the market.

9. Intake Management & Buy Analysis:

§ Coordinate intake processes to ensure timely delivery of merchandise and optimize inventory flow.

§ Analyse buy performance to identify opportunities for improvement and inform future purchasing decisions.

10. Size Analysis & International Pricing:

§ Conduct size analysis to optimise size ranges and allocations based on customer demand.

§ Maintain international pricing strategies.

11. Linear Sales Planning & Line Card Management:

§ Review linear sales plans to optimise space productivity and maximise sales per square foot.

§ Manage line cards and vendor relationships to ensure product availability and alignment with brand standards.

12. Attribute Management & Relations:

§ Manage product attributes and classifications to facilitate accurate reporting and analysis.

§ Foster positive relationships with internal stakeholders, including finance, direct-to-consumer (DTC), and wholesale teams.

13. Product Launch Coordination; Range Planning , Delivery & Analysis:

§ Assist in coordination of product launches, including planning, execution, and analysis of launch strategies.

§ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver range plans and delivery schedules in alignment with market trends and company objectives.

§ Conduct competition analysis to identify market trends, benchmark against competitors, and inform product strategies.

§ Assist in managing critical path timelines to ensure all milestones are met throughout the product development process.

§ Analyse sales performance and product metrics to identify best-selling products and areas for improvement.

Person profile - capabilities, proficiency, experience:

§ BA in Business, Merchandising, or related field would be preferred.

§ Experience in retail merchandising, inventory management, and sales analysis.

§ Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.

§ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and POS systems.

§ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

§ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
