The Brent CAMH service is based at Monks Park Clinic, Wembley. The team is well established and is staffed by a large multi-disciplinary team of clinicians.

We aim to provide an accessible, flexible and responsive local service for patients and professionals working with children in the area using the whole range of therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, systemic and family Therapy, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Psychoeducation, DBT therapy groups and multi-family work as well as Positive Behaviour Support.

Brent CAMHS consists of four main sub-teams: Emotional Disorders Team; Neurodevelopmental Team; Enhanced Treatment Team, and; Learning Disabilities (LD-CAMHS). The post holder may be required to travel to other parts of the catchment area and / or wider service and trust as necessary, including working within the community (e.g. schools).

The service operates Monday to Friday 09.00 to 17:00 with some flexibility to work extended hours to meet service need.

This post has two parts:

  • Clinical Role: The post holder will be required to support and enhance the psychological care of service users and carry out duties under supervision such as jointly conducting mental health and neurodevelopmental assessments and interventions, helping to organise groups or assisting with specialist assessments under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist
  • Service Evaluation Role: To assist in the collating and analysis of service data, management of waiting lists and any other duties as delegated by the Clinical Supervisor / Team Manager / Service Manager.

This will include the following:

  • To collect, analyse and report the Routine Outcome Measures (ROMs) data and support clinicians in its implementation.
  • To assist in the conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit projects, Quality Improvement (QI) Projects teaching and project work.

  • To support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the service, across all sectors of care; providing support for collection of clinical data and preparation of reports and support for the participation of young people in the service. In addition, there may be some scope for psychological assessment and psychological interventions of a routine nature (such as psychoeducational programmes), under the direct supervision of a qualified professional psychologist drawing on their supervisor's expertise and intervention, as and when advised and directed.
  • To work according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
  • To assist in the overall clinically related administration of the team such as conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit, Quality Improvement and/or research projects, training & teaching and project work.
