From our humble beginnings on Kickstarter in 2020, we're now one of the world's best-selling new board games, and a top 10 UK title.

By combining the Outsmarted game board with a feature-rich mobile app, and an exciting selection of multimedia-driven quiz question content, we provide the Outsmarted community with a live TV quiz show-like experience in the comfort of their home


Already in multiple international markets, Outsmarted will be sold in over 10 international markets throughout 2023, growing our user base to over two million players.

Consequently, we need the world's finest questions in each one of those markets, featuring high quality licensed content.

This will require us to produce 15, ,000 new questions across all markets, with the objective of achieving over £1m in question pack sales.

At QPLAY, you will be joining a small team of ambitious, supportive Outsmartians with diverse backgrounds but a shared passion to deliver on our mission to reinvent boardgames.


The Opportunity at QPLAY:

As Chief Content Officer, it will be your responsibility to ensure we deliver a world class, unrivalled trivia experience.

In order to succeed, you'll need to be both creative, analytical, detail oriented, and highly organized to ensure Outsmarted has the best quality question content in all regions.

Looking back on your first 12 months at QPLAY:

Over the course of 12 months, the Chief Content Officer will have taken ownership of ensuring every single existing question in Outsmarted meets our extremely high standards, and grown our library of question packs from 50 to 200 within 12 months, across 10+ international markets.

In your first two months, you'll have developed a network of the world's best question writers in all regions, helping evolve Outsmarted into the Netflix of trivia products, by achieving the following:

  • Quality checking all existing 15,000 questions in the Outsmarted app, across all regions the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
  • Ensure a minimum of 50 Breaking News questions are added weekly in every single region.
  • Develop and maintain a funnel for recruiting the world's best freelance question writers. Working directly with the COO, you'll design a commissionbased incentive scheme and software system for managing and compensating question writers.
  • Develop a question quality control process to ensure all new & existing questions in the Outsmarted app are error free and meet a predefined quality threshold.
  • Work with translators to produce local versions of the Outsmarted core pack of 6,000 questions, in Spanish, Swedish, and Norwegian. As well as ensuring all 10+ markets have high quality local question content.
  • Develop a content release schedule for all regions, releasing an additional 150+ question category packs across all regions (15, ,000 questions total), managing all international question writers and taking total ownership of quality control.
  • Coordinate with QPLAY's backend developer to ensure our question management system is optimal for managing multiple question contributors and version control.
  • Work closely with QPLAY's Community Manager and Customer Success Manager to ensure all newly released & scheduled content is in tune with customer preferences & demand.
  • Assist QPLAY's Community Manager to ensure all new content is continually promoted for a combined target of 1 million of content sales in 202
  • Report sales of all content on a weekly basis to the entire QPLAY team.
  • Coordinate with cofounders on creative ideas for new question formats, which could be incorporated in Outsmarted.
  • Manage licensing partnerships with image, music & video licensed content partnerships and explore new partnerships to enhance the quality of Outsmarted questions. Track & record all content assets used in the Outsmarted app.
