Data Lead/lead Data Management

The role will lead all aspects of Data management in alignment with the Data Directorate policy, standards, and controls, to initially support our Regulatory Reporting, bringing the professional and technical approach to ensure the appropriate level of management and controls are applied across all use of data.
What you'll do
- Be the lead role across our Strategic Projects for Data Management and work alongside other data leads including Data Architecture & Design.
- Provide specialist knowledge in Metadata Management, Data Lineage and Data Design (logical and physical Datamodelling, data warehousing and data analysis) to ensure the approach is robust and meets regulatory expectations.
- Support the project teams in delivering the most optimal way of working to meet tight deadlines and ensure activities are balanced with shortterm and longerterm outcomes.
- Define and design information & data management controls to support the change, aligning with existing policies and standards. Work alongside business colleagues and data analysts to follow processes with the relevant documentation to support procedures and training.
- Ensure that the target state is aligned to data quality frameworks with the relevant monitoring and support in place, ensuring the business can be confident that the data they are using is the accurate and complete.
- Consult with a wide range of stakeholders to assess risks and opportunities for improvements, present management information and recommendations to Steering Groups and decision makers.
- Scope data requirements and work alongside analysts and delivery teams to implement appropriate monitoring and guardrails.
- Support organisational design thinking, understanding culture and capabilities required within the Data Function and wider data users to support new/changing responsibilities.
- Provide upskilling and knowledge transfer to the Client Data teams, uplifting the business : data partnerships.
- Work alongside the Data Senior Leadership team to drive forward sustainable and ethical data management.
Skills Required:
- Professional experience in managing Data at organisational level, in Financial Services, with deep knowledge and understanding of data management.
- Great stakeholder management skills, advising senior leaders with key decisions through to communications with colleagues at process level, able to translate complex information into clear business outcomes.
- Design thinking mindset, working alongside other disciplines to problem solve, assess risks, and drive forward solutions to support agile delivery.
- Technical understanding of data & information technology landscapes (including SAS, Oracle, and BI systems) to influence appropriate data utilisation.
- Knowledge and experience in design (logical and physical Datamodelling, data warehousing and data analysis) and implementing data management for reporting within regulatory environments.
- Experience in changing operating models including Process, Organisation, Technology & Information.
- Ability to work across the change life cycle from inception, discovery to implement and warranty stages.
