Counter Context is a specialized communications and public relations company with extensive experience in the field. With a focus on facilitating communication between various stakeholders, we aim to create positive engagement in all projects we undertake.

As a Community Engagement Officer at Counter Context, you will play a crucial role in establishing strong connections with the community and key stakeholders for the Dewsbury Long Term Plan project. Your responsibilities will involve ensuring effective communication between the community and Kirklees Council, ultimately enhancing our community engagement and profile.

Key Responsibilities:

Building and Maintaining Relationships:

  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with community members and stakeholders, including local government, community groups, and residents.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for community inquiries and concerns, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.

Identifying Community Issues:

  • Monitor and identify community issues and concerns that may impact the project.

Attend Community Events:

  • Participate in event logistics and attend community events to promote project initiatives and gather community feedback.

Facilitating Open Communication:

  • Serve as a conduit for open communication between the community and the organization, ensuring transparency and trust.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Understanding of local government and community structures.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and addressing community issues.
  • Access to a mobile phone and laptop.
  • Experience in community engagement or related fields is desirable.

The offer:

Duration of position: Eight weeks fixed term

Hours: A minimum of four hours a week

Salary: £12.00 per hour
