We have an exciting opportunity to offer talented individuals two Full Time positions working in a Children's Residential Home for disabled children and young people.

Our team support children and young people with disabilities and complex health needs within a long term residential home.

As a Children's Residential Social Care Worker you will have the opportunity to access a wealth of training in order to develop your skills and work as part of a supportive team to deliver the best services possible to the young people we support.

The role offers the opportunity to become an important part of young people's lives and enable them to achieve their aspirations.

As their carer, you will support young people in all aspects of their daily lives to develop their independence, social skills and to support their behavioural and emotional well-being.

You will also be support young people with a variety fun and exciting activities and holidays.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • To ensure that the physical, emotional and identified primary care needs of children are met through the development and maintenance of a supportive and caring environment.
  • To establish positive relationships with the children, assessing needs and working jointly in preparation, implementation, delivery and revision of care plans/Pathway Plans.
  • To work to ensure that needs arising from autism and or learning disabilities are identified and strategies put in place to meet or support those needs.
  • To communicate effectively with children and young people who have communication impairments arising from disability.
  • To keep abreast of developments within the field of autism and learning disability and to reflect these developments to ensure best practice.
  • To work to provide a positive, welcoming and stimulating environment for the children, their families and friends, including carrying out domestic duties as per a family home or independent accommodation, when required.
  • To refer to the appropriate manager, immediately upon any suspicion, evidence or allegation of any concern, especially in relation to incidents of violence or child protection issues, in accordance with Child Protection procedures and Departmental Policy Guides.
  • To contribute to all Home recording procedures, with particular reference to the maintenance of casework files. To assist the Registered Manager in the production of reports and correspondence to a high professional standard as required.
  • To work on specifically designated tasks or projects (as delegated and as appropriate to grading and experience) which contribute to the development of the Home, as requested by Registered Manager.
  • The service operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, therefore it is a requirement of the post that you are willing to work on a rota basis and undertake sleeping in duties
  • To hold or complete the level 3. Diploma in Children's Residential Childcare or equivalent within 2 years of appointment
