The team at Howden, Corporate & Commercial is currently seeking a Claims Handler to bolster their workforce, supporting Claims Executives in offering clients sound advice and quality service tailored to their specific insurance requirements. In this role, you'll actively manage a portfolio of claims from start to finish.

Overview:

  • Answering phone calls and correspondence regarding claims.
  • Registering First Notice of Loss (FNOL).
  • Management of FNOL, ensuring prompt handling within our service level agreement.
  • Maintaining diaries and reports.
  • Matching all correspondence/diary entries.
  • Ensuring comprehensive communication of issues or complaints to the Claims Manager.
  • Maintaining compliance with our standards and regulations.
  • Adhering to service standards, market practices, and the CII Code of Ethics to safeguard client interests.
  • Ensuring GDPR compliance.
  • Accurately recording and filing all client communications.

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with major General Insurance categories, the CII Code of Ethics, and GDPR.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in claims, preferably in motor, property, or liability.
  • Prior brokerage experience is essential for success in this role.
  • Responsibility for personal development, staying informed through e-learning, courses, and pursuing professional qualifications for CPD points.

  • Effective prioritization and meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional client service aptitude.
  • Strong negotiation and broking skills.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to adapt communication to suit individual client comprehension levels.

Qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Cert CII (desirable).
