We serve as the Principal Contractor in various sectors such as Water, Industrial, MOD, and Power. Our scope includes New Construction, Renovation, Civil Engineering, and MEICA Projects.

With the vast expertise of our Directors in these construction fields, we are dedicated to leading design teams, subcontractors, and the supply chain to ensure that each project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards. We take pride in our honesty, competence, transparency, and collaboration with clients and the supply chain.

You will be located at our Ilkeston office, with occasional visits to project sites and client premises. We are willing to discuss and establish a flexible work arrangement tailored to individual needs. Flexibility will be arranged following the successful completion of the probationary period.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Promoting safe work practices in the commercial function
  • Handling pre-award tasks, including supporting the proposals team by reviewing tender documents, submitting commercial proposals for approval, preparing pricing notes, and coordinating commercial and legal aspects
  • Managing post-award administration, ensuring correct contract setup, timely invoicing, understanding commercial models, completing rate reviews, handling contract changes, and maintaining commercial records
  • Offering commercial guidance to a large delivery team to ensure contract compliance
  • Compiling monthly commercial reports and contributing to Contract Performance Reviews
  • Implementing the Tender Governance Process and Financial Management Framework
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders on commercial matters and contract discussions
  • Leading negotiations of Terms and Conditions with clients and suppliers
  • Mentoring junior team members, enhancing project delivery, and mitigating risks
  • Contributing to value creation through effective procurement and management practices

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently under pressure
  • Degree in a relevant Cost/Commercial field with practical experience
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication skills for delivering presentations and reports
  • Proficient in IT, especially Excel and Word
  • Strong commercial insight with expertise in cost reporting and forecasting
  • Skilled in negotiation and administration of NEC3/4 contracts
