An excellent and exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic part time (25 hrs per week) Health and Safety Advisor to join a fast paced and agile DIO's Regional Health and Safety team supporting a new function, that of DIO's Furniture Cell.


The team provides the intelligent customer capability for Health and Safety within DIO, through our proactive and engaging approach to assurance and performance; we seek to monitor and develop DIO policy and standards to meet H&S legislation, codes of practice and MOD policies.

Our team delivers a professional support capability for estate infrastructure areas in respect of H&S advice. Join the team and become part of a growing Health and Safety community.


They will be a specialist in Health and Safety legislation and standards to assist with compliance and continuous improvement of DIO through the creation of innovative ways to measure Health and Safety performance, so they are accurately monitored.

The role requires an outstanding communicator to spread the message and promote DIO values of safety first?


This part time role will suit a Health & Safety Advisor coming back into the workforce after a career break or one at the end of their career wishing to reduce their hours before retirement or anyone in between who just wishes to work on a part time basis.

The role is to process requests for both Standard and Specialist Furniture for DIO Personnel for the working from home aspect of Hybrid Working

Person specification:

  • Process and approve requests for standard furniture items, collaborating closely with both the individual requestor the procurement personnel where required.
  • Process and approve requests for specialist furniture items supported by and occupational Health Report, collaborating closely with both the individual requestor and the procurement personnel where required.
  • Provide advice and guidance of the service and requesting process as and when required
  • Review and provide updates for the FAQ's, requesting flowchart and Risk Assessment when required on the Furniture portion of the Remote Working Intranet page
  • Provide H&S Admin support to the Regional Health and Safety Support Teams AH

Desirable Skills & Experience
Membership of a Health and Safety Institution

Licences:

  • Must hold a full driving licence
  • Requirement to travel to remote sites which are not easily accessible by public transport
    Qualifications:
  • MUST HOLD NEBOSH Certificate in HEALTH AND SAFETY or equivalent
