Job Summary:
Greater Manchester Cancer is the cancer programme of the NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care System, covering a population of 3 million people and focusing on delivering Personalised Care as part of the NHS Long Term Plan. We are now looking for a proactive Programme Manager to oversee projects related to genomic and genetic testing, psychological support, and prehab/rehab requirements within our ambitious 24/25 planning guidance.
Main Duties of the Job:
- Oversight and co-ordination of the transformation projects
- Line management of project team members
- Setting up and planning of projects
- Identifying and managing project risks
- Providing expert project management advice and support

Job Responsibilities:
Programme Managers play a crucial role in leading, supporting, and co-ordinating projects that enhance the quality and patient experience of cancer care pathways across Greater Manchester. The ideal candidate will have experience working in cancer environments, managing staff, and delivering service improvements.
Qualifications:
- Educated to postgraduate degree level or equivalent
- Postgraduate degree in management studies or equivalent
Experience:
- Has worked with senior clinical colleagues to improve services
- Has led projects in complex environments
- Has financial management experience
Skills:
- Can influence others to develop a shared vision
- Numerate and able to understand complex financial information
- Can make informed decisions in the absence of complete information
