Weare looking for a BtLW Head of Communications.

Leadinga small team and working closely with the BtLW Engagement Lead the role willprovide expert communications advice and delivery support to the ProgrammeDirector. The role will be responsiblefor the preparation and delivery of the Communications Strategy and Plans,planning and organising high-profile visits and events, and perform an activedelivery role. The role should be considered an on-site role with theopportunity to take advantage from the Trusts flexible workingpolicies. The role shall be requiredto work from any of the Trusts premises, although is expected to be predominantlybased at the LGI site or nearby premises.

Main duties of the job

Basedin the BtLW Programme Team and reporting directly to the Programme Director,the role will be responsible for planning, shaping and evaluating communicationswith stakeholders both internally and externally and be responsible forplanning and organising high-profile visits and events. The role will also be required to performan active role in delivering communications activities, campaigns and engagementevents in the agreed plans.

Youwill work collaboratively across the Programme Team and with the TrustsCorporate Communications Team to ensure clear, consistent and effectivemessaging and communications activities keeping stakeholders informed andengaged about the Programme.

TheBtLW Head of Communications will lead the BtLW Programme Communications Teamand specifically communications in connection with the delivery of theHospitals of the Future Project and Pathology Project. Whilst based within the Programme Team, therole will work closely with the Associate Director of Communications, theCorporate Communications Team, and CSU Communication Leads.

Thiswill be a dynamic role where you will be involved in several projects at anyone time, providing the opportunity to support large scale change and bringour Programme vision to life.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level with a post graduate qualification in a communications, PR or media related subject (or equivalent experience in a communications environment).
  • Post graduate qualification in marketing/communication or a related discipline (or equivalent experience in a communications environment).
Experience
  • Good all-round knowledge of communications and PR theory and best practice (internal and external), especially when working in large and complex organisations.
  • Good knowledge of communications and engagement techniques and their use in organisational development and change.
  • Significant experience of working at a senior level in a communications or a PR role in a complex, large organisation.
  • Knowledge of consultation and engagement best practice around service change and improvements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Freedom of Information Act and its application.
  • Experience of working in a capital Projects environment.
Skills & behaviours
  • Able to assimilate and translate highly complex, sensitive and Programme/operational information into clear communications materials that adheres to Plain English guidelines and meets the needs of the
