Reporting to an Occupational Therapist, your role will involve supporting the service by organizing structured activities and aiding in the planning of both individual and group therapeutic interventions. You'll also establish personal connections with service users to encourage their participation in activities and promote their recovery.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you'll play a key role in assessing, monitoring, evaluating, and adapting structured activities to track progress and ensure effectiveness.

Operating within a multidisciplinary team, you'll receive regional support and access to various training opportunities and online courses to advance your career growth.


Responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist Assistant:

  • Support Occupational Therapists, Nurses, and other team members in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual care plans.
  • Assist service users in reaching their objectives and accessing appropriate services.
  • Maintain accurate records by entering relevant information into service users' healthcare records.

For success in this role, prior experience in a relevant healthcare setting is beneficial but not mandatory. The ability to collaborate effectively within a team and engage patients in various activities is essential. An interest or background in recreational and vocational activities like music, art, sports, education, and cooking is also advantageous, particularly in providing art and craft interventions.
