Job Summary


We are a well respected, forward thinking, Care Home in Kilmarnock (21 people live here) and we are looking for a committed, proactive Care Assistant.

You will have the support of a staff nurse on duty 24x7. We have a friendly tight team.


If you do not have an SVQ level 2 you must commit to working towards achieving it, to comply with registration of SSSC.

If you are not already registered with SSSC you will do so within 8 weeks of starting work with us.


Our recruitment process includes all staff being PVG members and we will require 2 references one of which must be your current or most recent employer.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • To ensure the highest possible levels of care is maintained by supporting and assisting people who live in Care Home, when required: with personal care, washing, dressing, undressing, and all other aspects of daily living.
  • To assist people who live here in all aspects of their care needs (e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual).
  • Provide support when needed, whilst ensuring residents retain their comfort, independence, dignity and respect.
  • Encourage residents to be as active as they can be.

Qualifications and Skills

Our ideal person would:

  • Be qualified to SVQ Level
  • Have experience working in a Care Home
  • Be positive and have a cheery outlook
  • More likely to smile than frown
  • Available to work our 9pm8am
  • A caring person
  • An organised person
  • Reliable and a good timekeeper
  • Patient with a kind nature and be compassionate
  • Interested in working with older people
  • Looking for a permanent position
  • To be aware and work towards achieving the National Health & Social Care Standards

Craigie Care Home has robust infection prevention and control procedures in place to help stop the spread of infection within our home.
