We are excited to announce a job opportunity for the position of Head of Category at a Public Sector organization, supported by Cedar.

This permanent role offers a competitive salary ranging from £60,000 to £75,000 along with additional benefits such as Car Allowance.

The role primarily involves managing the Business Services category, operating mostly from home but requiring occasional on-site presence for essential team meetings.

As the appointed Head of Category, you will report to the Head of Procurement, becoming an integral part of the organization's Leadership Team. Your key responsibilities will include leading, managing, and nurturing the Business Services category team to maintain high performance levels and promote collaborative efforts effectively.

You will be tasked with providing strategic guidance and operational oversight to the category, serving as a 'Category Expert' and offering support to team members and other stakeholders as needed.

Furthermore, you will be expected to lead and drive a high-performance team, implementing various transformative initiatives aimed at enhancing operations and fostering better relationships.

Developing strong professional relationships and fostering a culture of collaboration within the organization to enhance service quality and overall value will also be crucial aspects of the role.


Key Requirements for Candidates:
- MCIPS qualification
- Previous experience in a Public Sector Buying Organization (desirable)
- Team management experience (5-10 individuals)
- Background in Business Services Procurement within the UK Public Sector (desirable)
- Profound knowledge of Public Sector Procurement Regulations, including PCR2015, and awareness of the forthcoming changes in the Procurement Act 2023
