  • We're looking for two enthusiastic people to join our team who can use their initiative to solve problems, collect high quality data and who have an eye for detail. This is an entry level role, and we'll provide you with full training led by our experienced team members as well as formal training provided by external training suppliers. You'll also play a key role in resolving data issues or repairing equipment, ensuring that the Environment Agency is prepared to respond during environmental incidents; helping to protect people and livelihoods from the impacts of flooding and drought.

This is an exciting opportunity for those interested in a career that can make a real difference to the local environment.

You'll predominantly be working outdoors installing, operating and maintaining water flow and level measuring equipment in our local rivers and groundwater monitoring boreholes.

You'll process, quality assure and archive the data that you've collected, helping to ensure the health of our water systems, and recording the effects of climate change.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do.

You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident.

This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

The Environment Agency works to create better places for people, wildlife, and supports sustainable development.
