Crest Nicholson's Chiltern Division are recruiting for a Land and Planning Assistant, to support our Land Manager and Senior Development Manager


The successful candidate will provide support to the Land department to ensure the land, design and planning areas are run in an efficient manner.


Key Duties include:
Preparing and submitting planning applications for small developments or community infrastructure and assisting with larger applications and variations.nIdentifying, evaluating and supporting the acquisition of new opportunitiesnNegotiating lettings and coordinating freehold sales of commercial units and other disposalsnSupporting the negotiation and contracting of affordable and bulk/PRS deals, providing accurate information required in a timely manner and working with our partnerships teamnPreparing obligation trackers for legal purchase, sale and s106 agreements, owning and coordinating the fulfilment of obligationsnReporting to the Land Manager and Senior Development Manager, supporting them with various tasksnCommunicate effectively with key internal and external stakeholders, championing the values of CrestnCoordinate and attend community engagement events for proposed developmentsnObtaining, evaluating and reporting quotes from consultantsnRaising purchase orders for consultants and dealing with all invoice queries for the Land teamnResearching relevant planning policies for a sitenCollating and analysing comparable sales evidence for pricing a sitenCompiling trackers of S106 financial contributions and non-financial obligations

What are we looking for in a successful candidate?


Bachelor's degree in urban planning, real estate, or a related field is preferred.nPrevious experience in land acquisition, planning, or real estate is a plus.

- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data from various sources.nGood foundational understanding of build costs, abnormals, planning/build programmes and technical/design challenges and opportunities.nThe successful applicant must have experience in managing their own land and planning projects and should demonstrate a positive and determined work ethic.nExcellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.nProficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.nEffective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.nKnowledge of land use regulations, zoning laws, and planning processes is desirable.nFamiliarity with GIS software and mapping tools is a plus.nAttention to detail, able to priorities and able to make decisions when requirednGood knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.nTraining will be provided for using COINS, Project Vault, Pro-Map, Land Registry and Right Move.nWill be required to use equipment such as; Digital Camera, Xerox Copier/Scanner, Binding Machine, Plan Plotter and Laminator.
