The Role


The Shipping Administrator is key to delivering World class customer service in region, through ensuring that all shipments from the warehouse are delivered within the expected timeframe for the service and routing selected.

Proactively taking action to resolve exceptions or delays and being first with the news to our Customer Service teams, with daily customer centric reporting by office to ensure customers are advised of problems, before they advise us


The Shipping Administrator will be the communications hub for the Shipping team, promptly responding to customer queries via various communication channels, as well as being the eyes of the team, through KPI collection, reporting and analysis, using data to drive improvement in service, performance and costs for our customers and business.


Main Accountabilities:

  • Ensure all orders despatched from the warehouse are delivered to customers on time and when expected.
  • Use carriers and internal reporting tools to monitor shipments to ensure that they are delivered to customers as per SLA for the service type selected, including Saturday and Dangerous goods deliveries.
  • Escalate through appropriate channels where acceptations occur and notify impacted customers
  • Highlight failed or delayed orders to carriers and work with them to resolve in a timely manner to minimise the impact to our customers. Proactively notify customers where deliveries are delayed or failed
  • Look to resolve problems with carriers and in according to customer preference.
  • Manage undelivered orders ensuring the right corrective action is put in place to prevent future reoccurrence.
  • Where failed deliveries have occurred be able to analyze what has happened and take the appropriate action to correct and question any procedural errors that may have led to these errors.
  • Manage daily exception reports, be first with the news so Customer Service are aware of failed or delayed shipments before our customers.
  • Ensuring that each Cochlear customer service team receives a daily exception report at the start of their working day.
  • Hold carriers accountable for resolution and ensuring that Customer Service are aware of the actions required. To take action on any exceptions that require Supply Chain tasks.
  • Be the point of contact for customer service for all shipping queries.
  • Ensure all helpdesk queries are acknowledged / resolved within the set guidelines and assist with managing the Salesforce queue.
