BRIEF DESCRIPTION


The Payroll Officer is responsible for administrating and processing multiple payrolls for Mzuri Group companies in addition to providing payroll related administrative support to the HR Team.


Working hours:
Monday - Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm, Friday 8.30am to 2.00pm (37.5 hours per week)

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • End to end processing of weekly and monthly payroll for Decora and other Mzuri Group weekly / monthly payrolls.
  • Involved in the centralising and set up of payroll for other Mzuri Group companies.
  • Liaising with payroll provider (Payescape) and uploading files to external Sharepoint.
  • Liaising with Supervisors / staff on payroll related queries.
  • Manage NEST and AEGON pension uploads and administration.
  • Payroll related administration and calculations to include leaver notifications, statutory payments, annual leave, employee transfers, medical appointments.
  • Pay increase reports.
  • Month end reporting for pension and charity.
  • Administration of Time & Attendance System (NTP) to include holiday credits, absence recording, shift changes.
  • Updating Employee Lists and Logs for Group Companies.
  • Weekly headcount reporting.
  • Childcare Voucher administration.
  • General Payroll / HR administration.
  • Weekly / monthly reporting, updating HR systems for new starts, pay increases and compilation of statistical information as required.
  • Contribute to payroll projects as directed by line manager and in line with HR objectives.
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grade C or higher to include English and Maths
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a payroll environment
  • Knowledge of computerised HR and Time & Attendance systems
  • Computer literacy to include Microsoft Office Excel
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to work in, and adapt to, a rapidly changing environment
  • Confidential in all matters
  • Professional approach

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience of payroll software packages
  • Experience gained within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
  • Knowledge of PAMS
  • Gathering, analysing and reporting on key HR data/statistics
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Strong IT skills
