Estates and Facilities Lead

Job summary
The post holder will lead the strategic and operational estates and facilities management input into the scheme, optimizing safety, sustainability, resource management, and the transformation of hard and soft FM services to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes. The Trust is planning a major rebuild of the Hospital with an estimated capital cost of approximately £900m. The Trust aims to develop a facility that sets the standard in design, sustainability, and broader regeneration and economic value. Our Trust Values guide appropriate behaviors and ensure accountability for actions.
Main duties of the job
- Collaborate with the Transformation Lead and Operations Lead to ensure that the estate and facilities support patient care and operational needs.
- Oversee the maintenance and management of hospital buildings, including fire safety, security, and compliance.
- Develop an Estates and Facilities Management strategy emphasizing maintenance, safety, security, and efficient resource use.
- Assess the readiness of all hard and soft FM services, coordinating and executing plans as needed.
- Work with other Transformation Leads to ensure patient safety and care efficiency in clinical spaces.
- Collaborate with the Design & Construction Lead for proper design, installation, and maintenance of building systems.
- Develop and enforce protocols for addressing air quality issues within the hospital.

Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Professional certification HEFMA, IHEEM, CIOB
- Experience in managing Estates and Facilities Management services

- PRINCE2/ PRINCE2 Agile/ MSP Practitioner

- Extensive experience in managing large Estates and Facilities services
- Experience in analyzing and making judgments involving complex situations
- Experience in interpreting national policies and implementing them
