The service you will work in....This is a key role within the Technology, Digital and Data team. You will own the portfolio of primary and secondary research and evaluation projects conducted at Hestia.

The role will involve providing effective leadership and oversight of a range of programmes and project, as well as driving the research agenda within the organisation.

You will be responsible for leading, managing and delivering high profile research and evaluation work, and supporting colleagues within the organisation to do the same.

A day in this role looks like....As Head of Evaluation & Research at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Performance & Information team.

Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:
Scope, plan and deliver quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation projects – both work conducted in-house and externally commissioned.
Where appropriate oversee the tendering for a commis
sioned suppliers and manage through to completion and dissemination.

Collaborate with colleagues in Operations, Communications and Data teams to identify key insight that could be derived from our existing datasets to unlock our potential for greater external influence.

Support the design and delivery of service-level evaluation including, where appropriate, the development of evaluation frameworks.

Build partnerships with centres of research and evidence-based communities of practice in Hestia's areas of operation, particularly domestic abuse, modern slavery, and mental health and criminal justice servicesKeep abreast of research developments and support the implementation of key learning and best practice within the organisation.

To excel in this role, you should possess:
Experience of scoping research and evaluation projects and seeing them through from development to delivery and dissemination.
Experience of commissioning research and working with external partners to deliver high quality outputs.
A clear understanding of project management processes and experience of their application.
Experience of managing a complex portfolio of work and completing priorities.
A collaborative and inclusive approach to your work.
Experience of working in a health and/or social care setting.
Advanced knowledge of a range of research and evaluation methods and their application.
Strong communication and i
nfluencing skills.
Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
Strong data analysis skills and experience of working with complex datasets.
Strong quantitative and/or qualitative research skills.
