Head of Competence and First Line FS Risk Role Overview:

Head of Competence and First Line Risk Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and implement quality assurance policies, procedures, and processes that ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards set by the FCA.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality assurance processes, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for change as necessary.
  • Ensure that all operational activities are conducted in compliance with established quality standards and that any nonconformances are identified and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain a system for tracking and reporting on quality metrics, including performance against established quality standards and the effectiveness of quality improvement initiatives.

Operational and Regulated Training:

  • Develop and implement training programs that ensure that all staff are adequately trained to perform their job duties in compliance with relevant regulations and standards set by the FCA.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, job aids, and other resources to support the delivery of training programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for change as necessary.
  • Ensure that all training activities are conducted in compliance with established training standards set by the FCA and that any nonconformances are identified and addressed in a timely manner.

First-Line Risk Management:

  • Provide guidance and support to operational teams in the identification and assessment of risks, and in the development and implementation of risk, mitigation plans in adherence to Group Risk Management Policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management activities, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for change as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong relevant experience, including experience in quality assurance, training, and risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and standards set by the FCA.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead a team of professionals and collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex operational and regulatory compliance issues.
