What you will be doing?

As a Senior scientist, you will be responsible for developing and delivering new analytical methods to satisfy both our customer and regulatory requirements.

You will support the analytical manager and team leaders with analytical instrumentation, materialsand infrastructure to enable key progress and development within the department.

Our labs are a key part of the business which allows us to monitor that our water is safe and clean and that our waste product is treated in the correct way.


In this role you will:

  • Use your knowledge and understanding of our regulatory requirements and ISO17025 DWTS and MCERTS standards in the development and delivery of these methods.
  • Use your excellent communication skills to give accurate and timely updates on the development process.
  • Support the leadership team within the department to maintain existing analysis, aid the progression and delivery of the training plan and to continue to meet our health and safety standards.
  • Engage with the Competent Person process, undertaking training to approve routine analytical data, assess and minimise health and safety risks, investigate nonconformities and complete complex investigations.
  • Build strong relationships with internal customers to ensure that you are aware of forthcoming requirements.

We're looking for you to:

  • At least _4_ years of experience _as a laboratory analyst, scientist role or a similar development role
  • Have a track record of running and maintaining _GCMS and GCMS/MS systems._
  • Possess a sense of drive and determination to learn new job responsibilities
  • Value being part of a team
  • Be a strong problem solver
