What the team does:

***The Growth and Regeneration Finance Team work with services across the Council on growth and regeneration in Bristol. Our work changes day by day, you might be working on plans to develop Temple Meads one day and then managing financial pressures in our parks. However, all of our work makes a difference to the local community and therefore has a high level of political interest. You will have the chance to be involved in the whole financial cycle from developing ideas, to testing income and costs forecasts, monthly reporting and the end year accounting.


You will be well supported in your development, working with a large team to provide ad hoc advice, a dedicated 'buddy' to go to and formal training available.


The role

Your role will be determined by your interests and business needs with an expectation that you will lead on discrete projects and areas within Growth and Regeneration.

Those areas will be selected to ensure a broad exposure to accounting concepts and preparation for a permanent role in the team.


Where this role could lead?

The finance department has a range of grades and roles across financial, technical and management accounting and the qualifications offered with this role and higher could lead to a senior finance position as a qualified accountant.
