The Role:

Assembler
We are looking for an Assembler to connect parts into more complex components. You will ensure all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final product. You will use your hands and/or machines to do the job. You must possess manual dexterity. Ability to read instructions represented in manuals, drawings etc and follow them with precision. The goal is to produce Structural Timber Products e.g.

Roof Trusses and Metal Web Joist and Spandrel Panels as both open and closed panels by putting together smaller components.


Key Responsibilities as an Assembler:

  • Collect all material and equipment needed to begin the process
  • Take measurements to ensure perfect fit of components
  • Select or modify components according to measurements and specifications
  • Align material and put together parts to build more complex units

Key Responsibilities as a General Operative/Assembler

  • Ensure you have been briefed and understand all relevant risk assessments and method statements.
  • As a minimum requirement, work at a rate to ensure daily targets are reached.
  • Use best/safe practice on all tasks carried out.
  • Checks on any equipment that you may use.
  • Ensure safe tidy place of work.
  • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures.
  • Check output to ensure highest quality.
  • Maintain equipment in good condition.
  • Keep records of production quantities and time.
  • Report on issues, malfunction or defective parts.

Communication with management:

Communicate with the factory foreman on any health and safety concerns.

Feedback to foreman/production manager with near miss/close call reporting

Ensure you attend all factory briefings, forums and tool box talks

Key Measures & Targets:

Safely carry out tasks set by Foreman/Production Manager

Key relationships:

Foreman/Production Manager, Managing Director/General Manager, General Operatives and Office Staff

Hours Of Work
Monday-Thursday: 8am to 4:30pm

Friday: 8am - 3pm

A reasonable amount of overtime is expected when required .**
