GSL Education is currently looking for enthusiastic and patient Teaching Assistants to join our client Secondary school in Newcastle.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to providing the best possible support to students with additional needs.

The school is a larger than average secondary school with a really effective and proactive SEN department.

You will be assigned to a year group and will support small groups and 1:1 and help your designated learners get the most out of their time at school.

Tenacity, patience and the ability to build effective rapport are essential

Requirements:

  • Experience or a real desire to work with students with additional needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for making a positive difference in the lives of students
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good level of academic ability
  • Be available for work Monday to Friday
  • ECT's are welcome to apply
  • Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with us)
  • A full checkable work history
Interviews for this position will take place in August 2023
