:media Pictures team is looking for a talented Assistant Picture Editor to join our London bureau.
The ideal candidate will have experience in creating graphics, editing picture content and coordinating picture coverage in a fast-paced 24-hour digital news environment.
Requirements include:
2-3 years' experience in creating graphics, and editing and sourcing picture content for a newspaper or online news operation
Ability to work within stringent deadlines with the focus on sourcing, editing and packaging picture content to the highest standard
Confidence in negotiating exclusives and managing agency relationships
Experience in Photoshop
Good technical knowledge of picture management and web publishing systems
Background in news and showbusiness picture content is desirable
Understanding of legal covenants such as the UK Editors' Code of Practice, media law and editorial guidelines in Australia and globally is desirable
