Residential Childcare Support Worker

  • No prior experience required. All training provided.

ACAD is a reputable private-sector residential childcare provider offering top-notch services for children and young people since 2001. Established in 1993, CareTech is a leading social care provider nationwide, delivering high-quality, tailored care solutions to individuals across the UK. Currently, ACAD operates eight residential childcare services in Scotland and an independent school in Dumfries. The services are distributed as follows: four in Dumfries and Galloway, two in Highland, and two in Fife.

We are looking for empathetic and empowering Residential Child Care Support Workers to offer care and support to children and young people who cannot reside with their families. Many of these individuals have encountered adverse childhood experiences and trauma. We seek individuals who comprehend the challenges these children may face and possess the confidence and skills to help them recover and thrive.

We maintain a safe and nurturing environment for the children in our care and require individuals who can exhibit care and compassion in this demanding yet fulfilling setting.

Springfield Home, situated near Cupar, Fife, is a spacious detached 5-bedroom house located in rural surroundings. The establishment offers long-term placements for young people with social, emotional, and behavioral needs, possibly stemming from prior trauma. A consistent training, supervision, and appraisal program is in place. The staff operates on a rotational basis, ensuring continuous presence on the premises. Employees follow a two-on-four-off shift pattern.

Essential qualifications and abilities:

  • A comprehensive grasp of the developmental requirements and milestones of children and young people.
  • The capacity to effectively communicate, interact, and build positive relationships with children, young people, parents, carers, and fellow professionals.
  • Possession of a valid manual driver's license.

To support you in this role, we deliver specialized training programs and invest in your professional growth. This could entail obtaining an HNC in Social Care, SVQ Level 3 in Care, or a comparable certification. We provide an attractive salary package, which includes a sleepover allowance, along with a permanent full-time contract. Our staff members enjoy access to an employee assistance program and a pension scheme.

Due to the role's nature, all Residential Childcare Workers must undergo a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check by Disclosure Scotland and acquire membership before starting their employment with us.
