Permanent Logistics Operations Transport Controller

What's an offer? We are searching for a Logistics Operations Transport Controller to join an incredible international company leading the way in their industry. They offer growth opportunities and job stability at their wonderful site in Coalville.

This role focuses on expanding European and UK transport business opportunities and maintaining current transport operations. It is crucial to have a solid road knowledge along with expertise in Custom clearance.

Mainly an operations position with a focus on negotiating competitive transport rates and providing quotes to current and potential clients.

As a Logistics Operations Transport Controller, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Receive and process customer orders for deliveries.
  • Organise efficient transport solutions to ensure timely shipments.
  • Schedule delivery appointments with recipients.
  • Reach out to transport partners for quotes, negotiate rates, and manage bookings.
  • Handle all transport partner invoices promptly.
  • Invoice clients based on internal KPI's.
  • Obtain POD's post-delivery and update operating system with progress.
  • Onboard new transport partners and gather necessary paperwork.
  • Collaborate with customs team for import/export documentation support.
  • Investigate delivery issues, update non-conformity system, and provide root cause analysis to customers.
  • Maintain effective communication with team, clients, and management.
  • Develop transport operations SOPs as needed.
  • Ensure timely completion of all reports, including customer KPI's.
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager.

Skills and Attributes as a Logistics Operations Transport Controller:

  • Solid EU & UK domestic transport operational experience and knowledge.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with freight operating software, preferably Cargowise.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Desirable knowledge of EU Export and Import customs clearance.
