HV Installation Technician (Switchgear)


A prominent Power Distribution firm, renowned for its extensive involvement in full turnkey Electrical services within the commercial, industrial, Data Centre, National Grid and renewable sectors, is actively seeking a proficient HV Installation Technician to enrich its dynamic team.

This pivotal position necessitates the adept deployment of the Installation of HV Switchgear. Encompassing diverse sites encompassing Renewable Energy, Industrial, and Commercial private networks, you will play a vital role in HV installations

This exciting opportunity entails nationwide travel, providing the chance to explore diverse regions while making a meaningful impact.

The responsibilities of the HV Installation Electrician will include:

  • Conduct thorough installation of LV/HV substation equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and effectively resolve electrical faults.
  • Install switchgear and transformers.
  • Conduct testing of earthing and associated equipment.
  • Carry out HV electrical testing in compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with the on-site team, following instructions from Project Engineers and work packs.
  • Attend training courses and pursue continuous development opportunities.
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • Electrically trained (C&G Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Compex, 18th edition)
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and flow diagrams.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away when required
  • Desirable: SHEA Power, IPAF, ECS Card, PASMA
* 45 hrs per week - Monday to Friday

  • Plenty of overtime available (x1.5 after contracted hours and Saturdays x2.0 on Sundays and Bank Holidays)
* 00 staying away bonus each week

  • Company vehicle + fuel card
  • Accommodation and expenses paid for
* 25+ days holiday
