Duties and Responsibilities - Job Specific
1.
As a member of the Facilities Response Team carry out works and services relating to coastal and flood risk infrastructure maintenance, which includes:
a. Inspecting and reporting on drains, culverts, gulley's, pump stations, sewerage plant and other watercourse infrastructure, utilising a Computer Aided Facilities Management System (CAFMS) to capture all associated information for the management of infrastructure and onward data transfer to Computer Aided Maintenance Management Systems (CAMMS)
b. Undertake planned and responsive repairs and maintenance works on coastal and flood risk infrastructure, utilising plant and equipment to resolve and update CAMMS and CAFMS
c. Assist with CCTV drainage surveys and investigations
d.
Installation and removal of demountable flood defences as required, to reduce the risk of flooding to properties and infrastructure during flood events.
2.As a member of the Facilities Response Team carry out works and services relating to Cemetery management activities sensitively and empathetically, which includes:
a. Burial operations, ensuring grave identification from plans, safe grave excavation to the correct dimensions (either mechanically or by hand), grave preparation prior to internment, backfill and leaving the grave in a neat, tidy and presentable manner
b. Exhumations
c. Assist Funeral Directors during internment if required
d. Grounds maintenance activities

As a member of the Facilities Response Team undertake beach management activities as directed to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the County's beaches
4.
Provide minor building and asset repairs and maintenance activities, for example changing light bulbs, replacing washers and other simple paraphernalia, gutter clearing etc.

Ensure that all vehicles, plant, machinery and equipment are operated and maintained safely, appropriately and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and the Authority's processes and procedures, this includes power tools (strimmers, chainsaws, grinders etc.), plant (tractors, excavators, generators etc.), vehicles and other equipment (CCTV investigative equipment, information technology etc.)

As a member of the Facilities Response Team provide an immediate reactive service to incidents and events assisting in reducing the effects of any adverse impacts to people and property, providing assistance as required particularly during flood events where the issuing of sandbags and deployment of pumps and demountable equipment will reduce the risks of flooding during inclement weather

Assist the Facilities Response Team Leader's and Supervisor in reviewing, implementing and adhere to all Risk Assessments and Safe Working Procedures for all work activities
8.
Undertake administrative tasks to record all relevant information including but not limited to; timesheets, simple procurement of consumables and basic equipment, vehicle and equipment log books etc.
As part of the Team you are required; to share best practice, develop knowledge and skills in order to create a strong team with a positive 'can do' attitude, embracing a high performance culture that delivers a high quality, professional service to customers and clients.
Maintain currency of knowledge in respect to contemporary practices and procedures or innovations within the broad facilities management profession, contributing to the continued improvement and modernisation of services and solutions
Duties and Responsibilities - Corporate
1.
To be responsible for establishing good working relationships both internally and externally.

Compliance with the Authority's Policies and Procedures and to make known to Senior Officers any areas which are not adequately covered.
To participate actively in supporting the Authority's principles and practices of equality of opportunity as laid down within the Equalities Policy.

As a term of your employment and in order to maintain effective departmental operations, you may be required to undertake any other reasonable task, commensurate with your grade, as determined by your Line Manager or Head of Service.
