Purpose of Role


To be the primary lead on all aspects of teaching and learning and safeguarding / welfare standards within the school.

Overseeing the teaching team, the Senior Teacher & Educational Lead will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the school is always presentable, clean, organised and well presented to assist in sales
  • Ensuring best practice and policies are always followed and adhered to through effective role modeling, staff meetings, training, support and floor based work with children at practitioners alike
  • Ensuring the school and teams operate in line with safeguarding and welfare guidance and the specifics of the EYFS Statutory Frame work at all times this role will see you assume DSO and Health & Safety officer responsibilities, ensuring that risk assessments are adequately undertaken and that safeguarding concerns are notified to the business manager and reported to the necessary authorities in line with safeguarding procedures
  • The planning and execution of our bilingual educational model and curriculum, working with room leaders to ensure that they are both delivering and proving (photos / video materials) that they are delivering the model for parents via communications
  • Undertaking School Development Plan & Room Inspections (monthly and termly) to provide Room leaders with SMART objectives to achieve Outstanding in consultation with the Quality Assurance Officer
  • Working with the Business Manager to procure learning resources that are in line with our educational model and budget
  • Ensuring that parents receive high quality and effective reporting on both their child's academic progress and bilingual progress as per the above educational model
  • Securing Ofsted Good to Outstanding gradings upon inspection from both the Quality Assurance Consultants and external agencies such as Ofsted and the Local Authority

Quality - Securing Good to Outstanding gradings from Quality Assurance Inspectors and Ofsted: Termly audits and inspections

Parent Evaluation - receiving 85% approval from parents on the teaching and learning / quality of educational and welfare practice in the school

School / Team evaluation - Receiving 85% approval from the team as to your leadership on aspects of practice / teaching and learning and things educational

Policy Adherence - for mínimal breach of policy to be embedded through regular and consistent supervisions of staff (to be held with the business manager) and staff meetings

Probation:6 Months

Holiday:25 days exclusive of bank holidays (200 hours) with additional days for each years service up to an additional 5

Working Hours:
Target 40 hours but as required to fulfil the obligations of the nursery. NB as Designated Safeguarding lead for the nursery, Nursery managers must be contactable at all times by staff and local safeguarding bodies

Required Qualifications & Certificates

Essential:

Relevant childcare qualification to level 3 or above; At least 2 years Nursery management experience; Up to date DBS; Pediatric first aid; safeguarding training (Level 3); Food Hygiene; SEND; Fire Safety; A positive approach to gaining further qualifications and trainings.

Experience

  • At least three years experience working and managing UK childcare settings as a nursery manager or as part of the management team
  • Strong track record in (EYFS) high quality early years provision for Ofsted Good rating and above
  • Managerial experience in nursery industry in settings of over 40 places (children) aged 6 months to
  • Training experience required
  • Conflict resolution experience being able to deliver a tough message in a fair way
  • Organizing nursery marketing events experience
