As an Academy Physiologist, you'll bring a minimum 2:2 Sport and Exercise Science degree or equivalent. You've studied human physiology, exercise, biochemistry, anatomy/biomechanics, psychology and nutrition. Crucially, you know how to apply this in practice.

Whilst you will have a base location all our Academy Physiology roles are mobile, so you will be required to travel within the region of your base site.

As an Academy Physiologist, you will:

  • Join our multidisciplinary team of doctors, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals

  • Complete our in-house three-week training course.

  • Help promote health and fitness as part of our holistic, comprehensive health service

  • Deliver health assessments that support health and wellbeing goals

  • Support prevention as well as rehabilitation and recovery

  • Be passionate and caring in the service you provide, putting client's needs first

  • Complete our award-winning preceptorship programme during your first 12 months in the role

The Exeter Nuffield hospital is based next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. Exeter is a vibrant cathedral city in the heart of the beautiful county of Devon, situated on the river exe and only 10 miles from the coast. The hospital has 2 theatres, as well as a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre and an Endoscopy suite. There are two ward areas: an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day-case ward with 12 beds. We also have an on-site Pathology department as well as a busy outpatient department, health assessment service, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and radiology department including an MRI scanner.

Successful candidates will be expected to attend a training camp, which is scheduled for February 2025.
