Do you have experience with structured cabling, termination and testing procedures and knowledge of IP networks? Are you looking for your next career move in an exciting business? We have a great opportunity for a project technician to join the gaming machine support project team servicing casinos nationwide. The role includes installation, re-configuration and de-commissioning of live and electronic gaming products plus ancillary equipment and requires someone with cabling experience. Please note this role is located in our Wednesbury stores office. The successful candidate must live within 75 miles of this location.

The project team operates a flexible approach to working to ensure that as little inconvenience is experienced by casinos during projects. This requires a need for early starts and long days during certain projects, additional days off are included within the roster to compensate. This role involves extensive UK travel driving a company vehicle and a considerable number of days working away and stopping in hotels. This is a physical role and there is a substantial amount of manual handling for which appropriate training and equipment is provided.


Key skills and responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with installing and re-locating network cabling, switches, cabinets, server racks, live gaming tables and equipment.
  • Servicing and repairing gaming equipment where necessary to the specified company standards.
  • Assisting in machine preparations and delivery of gaming equipment when required.
  • Following diagnostic procedures to identify faults with gaming equipment and data networks.
  • Keeping up to date with technological developments in both gaming equipment and the provision of the required data infrastructure.
  • Assisting with bench repairs to equipment as and when required.
  • Ensuring that tools and test equipment are kept in a serviceable condition.
  • Observing machine accounting and security procedures in the casinos where work is carried out.
  • Anticipating and reporting areas of security risk to your line manager.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation and company procedures with respect of Health and Safety in the workplace and public areas, at all times
  • Administration.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely and systematic records of services, repairs, spares, stationery and supplies.
  • Maintaining accurate time sheets.
  • Updating jobs in a correct and timely manner.
  • Adopting a pleasant, professional and positive manner with internal and external customers.
  • Ensuring internal customers are kept informed at all stages of progress with their projects.
  • Recognising the importance of teamwork, building and maintaining effective working relationships with all colleagues.
  • Adopting a positive and flexible attitude to changing priorities and procedures.
  • The ability to communicate in an appropriate manner with all colleagues and customers over a variety of platforms.
  • Carrying out any other duties that may be reasonably requested from time-to-time.

Personal skills and experience:

  • Experience in machine installations, repair and maintenance of current gaming equipment and components (training will be provided).
  • An understanding of player tracking systems including DRS and EGI03 software and hardware (training will be provided).
  • Experience in structured cabling, termination and testing procedures and knowledge of IP networks.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Word and Excel and familiar with database systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels of contact and in a wide variety of situations.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Keep commercial aspects continually in mind when taking action or making decisions.
  • Ensure that customers and line managers are regularly kept informed of important current issues.
