We're looking for a Visitor Operations and Experience Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead for excellence in outdoor visitor engagement. The West Oxfordshire portfolio covers 9000 acres with 1500 buildings and structures with complete villages and 12 working farms.

What it's like to work here

Leading a team of five direct reports who manage the visitor facing teams at each property, you'll oversee the visitor journey whether online, onsite or events and exhibitions. You'll work closely with the General Manager and Leadership team to plan and deliver the 2025 vision for the Heritage and Rural Skills Centre in Coleshill. Leading on stakeholder mapping and developing our community work including our Children and Young people work as Coleshill is one of the national hubs for this.

You'll enjoy fun and diverse work within a friendly, lively and delivery focused team. What you'll be doing

You'll be responsible for great engagement and improved access across some of the National Trust’s properties. These are predominantly outdoor sites, including the iconic White Horse Hill, the much-loved Chastleton House, Ashdown House built for a Queen and acres of countryside with key sites including Badbury and Buscot.

You'll take the lead on the National Trust’s fist Heritage Skills Centre engaging people with the heritage and conservation crafts and skills required to looked after these special places.

You'll lead a team to engage with local communities with the National Trusts’ work building partnerships and new ways of working. Establish new visitor experiences both temporary and more permanent with exhibition spaces to tell untold stories of a lost house and a secret army.

You'll also oversee engagement in the outdoors as we plant 40,000 trees this winter with fresh thinking and ideas to unlock the potential of these special outdoor places while ensuring we protect what makes them special.
