Wehave an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiasticTheatre Nurse/ODP to join our expanding Theatre team at TheWestbourne Centre as a scrub, recovery and/or anaestheticpractitioner.

TheWestbourne Centre focuses on day case hospital surgery. The Centreis one of the UK’s largest independent clinics established in 2009as part of a joint venture between 5 regional consultants andthe global hospital company, RamsayHealthcare.

As well asdelivering exceptional standards of clinical care to our surgicalpatients, the successful candidate will have the opportunityto broaden their theatre practice within different surgicalspecialities such as plastic/cosmetic surgery, minor orthopaedicsurgery (including hand and foot surgery), general surgery &ophthalmicsurgery.

Itis essential that the candidate willhave:

  • Currentmedical and/or surgical experience within a hospitalenvironment
  • Currentregistration with the HCPC or NMC (UK) and ongoingCDP
  • Comprehensiveunderstanding of relevant clinical standards in a surgicalenvironment
  • Excellentcommunication skills, both written andoral
  • Excellentcustomer care skills
  • Agood standard of computerliteracy
  • The abilityto work within ateam
  • The ability totime-manageeffectively
  • Willingnessto be flexible during periods of low activity and work extra hourswhererequired

TheWestbourne Centre is a private day surgery facility in the heart ofthe Edgbaston Medical Quarter in Birmingham. The Centre bringstogether a diverse group of clinical specialists andstate-of-the-art facilities, enabling the highest qualityprocedures, treatments and patient experience for private, insuredand NHS patients. We pride ourselves in delivering high qualitycare to all patients in a supportive caringenvironment.

The theatredepartment at The Westbourne Centre is expanding with moreconsultants joining the team and using the facilities.

The successfulapplicant will complement the current team, helping to ensure thatefficient and individualised high quality patient care, is offeredto our whole patientgroup.

The successfulapplicant will find a friendly, supportive group of clinicians andnurses, within which career progression and ongoing education arefullysupported.

Successfulcandidates will be subject to a 6 month probationaryperiod.

Hours ofbusiness at The Westbourne Centre are 8am – 8pm Monday toSaturday.

Alloffers of employment in respect of this appointment will be subjectto receipt of a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure Certificate fromthe Disclosure and BarringService
