Finning UK is continuing to develop thestrongest talent in the marketplace, and with our Apprentice schemegoing from success to success, we are now looking to appoint aService Technical Trainer to deliver apprenticeship training. Thesuccessful candidate will lead the engineering apprentices throughtheir programmes and prepare them for their end point assessmenttests. Ensuring apprentice needs are met to ensure an outstandingexperience for the Apprentices, and to ensure that all of theirindividual learning needs are at the heart of the programme.Ensuring alignment to the overall apprenticeship strategic plan inalignment with the Apprenticeship Quality Manager.

The successful applicant willsupport the delivery of the training calendar for technicaltraining within Finning by working with Service Technical TrainingManager (STTM) and identified SMEs across the team. You will workclosely in conjunction with all Training Team Members and supportthe STTM in the production of the Technical Training curriculumfrom apprentices to fully qualified engineers within FinningUK&I.

You will plan courses in line withCat’s Technician Career Development Programme (TCDP) integratedwith NPI and technical training requirements. Develop and delivertraining programmes for apprentices and engineers, ensuringtraining is delivered to meet the current service specification andadopts a safety and customer service culture. Work closely withco-ordinators to schedule courses and maximise attendance.JobDescription:

MajorJobFunctions:

  • Deliveringtraining for apprentices in engineering roles to complete theirapprenticeships within Finning UK & Ireland.

  • Workingin conjunction with training providers as necessary to offer anoutstanding service.

  • Offeringnecessary advice and guidance to ensure apprentices complete theirapprenticeship considering their individualneeds.

  • Assessingapprentices work, offering motivational feedback that stretches andchallenges them to achieve the highest results.

  • Workingclosely with the apprenticeship quality manager and team to deliveran outstanding apprenticeship programme.

  • Utilisingblended learning techniques to maximise training opportunities forFinning employees.

  • Ensuringthat individual records are updated on apprentices and produce dataas and when required for governance of the programme.

  • Ensuringthat training is delivered to meet the current servicespecification and adopts a safe, inclusive and customer serviceculture.

  • Workingwith the team to produce annual training plans for the apprenticesthat support the business strategy, apprenticeship programme andpromote the individual needs and learning ofapprentices.

  • Workingwith the apprenticeship and recruitment team to recruit newapprentices into the business promoting diversity andinclusion. 

  • Workingas an ambassador of the programme to encourage new talent into theapprenticeship programme.

  • Continuouslymonitor and evaluate the effectiveness of apprenticeship training,giving feedback to apprentices in review meetings and collectingfeedback from own trainingdelivery. 

  • Keepingall training relevant and current in line with Education and SkillsFunding Agency (ESFA) and Office for Standards in Education(OFSTED) requirements. Ensuring Equality, Diversity & Inclusionis brought to life in thecurriculum.

  • Attendmeetings to standardise the curriculum delivery and share bestpractice.

Thisrole carries significant safeguarding responsibilities. As outlinedin the job description, the successful candidate will beresponsible for implementing safeguarding practices, identifyingand reporting any safeguarding concerns, and ensuring thewell-being of apprentices during training sessions. Education&Experience:

  • Toachieve within a timely manner Level 4 or above qualification inAssessor Coach/TAQA and IQA. 

  • Effectivetime management skills and organisationskills.

  • ITskills with MS Officeexperience. 

  • Abilityto operate in an unbiased way encouraging Equality, Diversity andInclusion. 

Desirable

  • Certifiedtraining qualification (TAQA, A1, Assessor award) orequivalent.

  • Coachingor Mentoringcertificate.
