Job Description
EGIS is a leading global engineering firm renowned for its expertise across complex infrastructure projects, particularly in the nuclear industry. With a deep commitment to safety, quality, and innovation, EGIS plays a critical role in advancing the sustainable future of energy by supporting the detailed design, engineering, and construction of nuclear power plants. As part of our mission, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of engineering excellence and maintaining the highest industry standards. We seek talented individuals to join our dynamic team as we shape projects that contribute to the essential infrastructure of tomorrow. In this role, you will be part of a high-calibre team of Building Pilots, each playing an integral part in delivering the design key buildings of nuclear island structures, under the coordination of a Delivery Manager.
As a Building Pilot, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for delivering the detailed design of a designated nuclear island building. Your role will encompass managing the technical scope, budget, and schedule, with support from technical direction, contract management, and scheduling teams to ensure successful project delivery. This position calls for a strong background in civil works design, excellent communication skills, and effective leadership to guide your team toward project milestones and uphold EGIS's standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Design Execution: Manage the technical delivery of the detailed design for an assigned nuclear island building, ensuring alignment with project specifications, budget, and timeline.
- Technical Scope and Quality Oversight: Take responsibility for the technical aspects of the design, collaborating closely with engineers and specialists to produce compliant, innovative solutions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work alongside technical direction, contract management, and scheduling teams, reporting to the Delivery Manager to integrate design elements with project-wide goals.
- Resource and Team Leadership: Guide a team of engineers, fostering performance excellence and allocating resources to meet design objectives.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with the Delivery Manager, clients, and other stakeholders, facilitating project meetings and updates.
- Risk Management: Identify and address design risks proactively to safeguard project quality and timeline adherence.
- Technical Documentation: Document project changes, provide regular status reports, and ensure transparent communication and accountability for project deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in managing detailed design projects in civil engineering, preferably in nuclear or other regulated environments.
- Proficiency in Ansys, with a deep understanding of nuclear industry standards.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage technical scope, budgets, and project schedules.
- Familiarity with nuclear safety and regulatory protocols.
- PMP or equivalent certification is advantageous.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Opportunities for growth and professional development.
- A collaborative work environment dedicated to safety and innovation in the nuclear industry.
This role is ideal for a proactive leader with a strong background in nuclear civil design and a commitment to guiding teams toward successful project outcomes.
Additional information

Note: Given the nature of the work, role holders may be required to undergo Basic Security Clearance (BPSS).
