Whatyou'll do

As an IT Risk andControls Manager, you’ll have an opportunity to make a vitalcontribution to driving a generative culture of risk awareness andrecommend solutions to risk based issues within the business.You’ll strengthen the level of ownership within the business,identifying and calling out areas of weakness and sharing bestpractices.

We’ll look to youto maintain robust risk management practices in line with theoperational risk handbook, to sustain a control environmentcertification rating within riskappetite.

Day-to-day, you’llbe:

  • Escalatingemerging risks in a timely manner, making sure actions are quicklydefined and owned
  • Developing and delivering astrong risk awareness across the business, contributing to theprioritisation, design and implementation of the operational riskprinciples into the business
  • Implementingrobust risk management and governance practices in line with thebank’s framework, by engaging with all relevant stakeholders andenabling effective decision making
  • Building andmaintaining strong working relationships between the business, itslines of defence representatives, as well as the wider risk andcontrols community within thebank

The skillsyou'll need

As well as astrong understanding of the payments and cash business, you’ll needproject management skills involving complex people, process andtechnology issues, along with a proven understanding and practicalapplication of risk management principles. You’ll also need welldeveloped knowledge of industry practices and direction, associatedproduct knowledge, processes and technologies.  Previousinternal or external technology audit experience would bebeneficial.

On top of this,you’llbring:

  • Strongsenior stakeholder management skills
  • A welldeveloped network of contacts
  • A clear trackrecord of timely delivery
  • The ability to workunder pressure and in an unstructuredenvironment
  • Exposure to emerging technologieswithin the banking industry, with a keen interest to stay ahead ofthe curve
  • Robust practical experience oftechnology controls, specifically IT General Controls (ITGC) andapplication controls (ITAC)
  • Influencing andconflict resolution skills, with the ability to view the impact ofissues from a wider or macro perspective
  • Theability to think creatively when resolving problems and identifyalternatives where established procedures may notexist
  • A professional qualification such as ACA,CISA or CISSP
