We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finishing Manager to oversee the internal and external fit-out and finishing stages of our high-end construction projects. This role is responsible for managing all finishing works, from first fix to project handover, ensuring everything is completed to the highest standards in line with specifications, timelines, and client expectations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Internal and External Fit Completion: Oversee the completion of both internal and external finishes, from first fix through to handover, ensuring all work meets the company's high standards of quality and detail. 

  • Project Delivery: Manage the execution of assigned project areas efficiently, adhering to company procedures, timelines, and project specifications. 

  • Subcontractor Management: Coordinate and manage subcontractors and trades, ensuring timely completion and adherence to high standards. 

  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Promote a safety-first culture on-site, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and company health, safety, and environmental standards. Conduct daily checks to ensure health and safety measures are followed. 

  • Quality Control: Validate installation quality and ensure compliance with specifications and drawings. Carry out snagging, benchmarking, and regular inspections to ensure a high-quality finish. 

  • Compliance with Method Statements: Assist the Site Manager in ensuring all operatives are working in line with the latest method statements and that they fully understand the task at hand. 

  • Problem-Solving and Site Management: Assist the Site Manager in solving site-related issues as they arise, and provide feedback on any defects or innovative methods to enhance work processes. 

  • Material Deliveries: Oversee material deliveries and ensure materials meet project specifications and quality standards. 

  • Design Coordination: Assist in the coordination of design and production information with respect to site conditions, cost restraints, and project requirements. Ensure any design changes are reflected in on-site progress. 

  • Commercial Oversight: Ensure all directives provided to subcontractors are documented. Report any performance issues or concerns to the commercial team. 

  • Records Management: Maintain accurate records of all activities, including emails, drawings, site records, and progress reports. Assist with daily diaries and ensure proper archiving of documents as per company procedures. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Finishing Manager within high-end residential or commercial construction projects. 

  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, materials, and processes, with a focus on quality and detail. 

  • Knowledge of MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) and how they integrate with finishing works. 

  • CSCS certification is required. SMSTS and First Aid certifications are preferred. 

  • Experience managing and liaising with subcontractors, particularly regarding their performance, labour, plant, and material requirements. 

  • Ability to validate installations for quality standards and compliance with specifications. 

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to negotiate and present ideas effectively. 

  • Strong IT skills, with the ability to manage both on-site and office tasks. 

  • Forward planning skills with a strong focus on people management and negotiation. 

  • Ability to work under pressure, solve problems efficiently, and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines. 

  • Familiarity with health, safety, and welfare regulations, ensuring plant and site facilities meet these standards at all times. 

  • Knowledge of design changes and their impact on project progress and costs.
