Hestia is the largestprovider of support to potential victims of trafficking in the UK.It is a dynamic service celebrating innovation and high engagementfrom service users.
Safe House Advocatesprovide a high-quality emotional and practical frontline support toresidents who may have experienced trafficking and modern slavery,including sexual and criminal exploitation, domestic servitude, andother forms of exploitation. Residents may have moved to a safehouse to escape a danger area or a perpetrator, and we work toensure that they feel safe and protected in the service.

As a Safe HouseAdvocate at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our ModernSlavery Support service. Your contributions will directlyinfluence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards apath of empowerment and independence.
A day willnever look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/beresponsible for are:
- Hold a caseloadof residents who are recognised as potential victims of traffickingwithin the National Referral Mechanism.
- Advocate on behalf of residents to ensure access toECAT (European Convention for Action againstTrafficking) rights and help them navigate throughthe NRM.
- Identify and assess any risks and putin place appropriate safeguarding measures in response to theserisks.
- Report incidents within stricttimeframes and liaise with emergency services whereappropriate.
- Professionally deal with urgentrequests and unpredicted issues.
- Hold regularkey work sessions with residents, recording all interactions oncase management system.
- Have a good grasp ofpublic and private services available to residents with no recourseto public funds as well as those who do have recourse. Confidentlyliaising with these services when needed.
- Write official letters on behalf of service users to theHome Office, or other partner agencies.
- Attendance at team meetings, supervisions with your linemanager, clinical supervision and mandatory trainingsessions.
- Making sure the adult survivor isable to maintain a positive & safe relationship with theirchild.

- Knowledge andunderstanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address themappropriately.
- Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills.
- Proficient in using acomputer and working on a database.
- Proficientin using Microsoft Teams, Excel, PPW and Word.
- Knowledge of GDPR principles.
