We have a number of permanent and fixed term opportunitiesfor Machine Operators to join the friendly team at our Pontefractsite. As a Machine Operator, you'll work within an IWS linestructure, reporting into the Line Lead.

Pleasenote that our location can be difficult to access by publictransport at certain shift start and finish times.


Theopportunities we have available are:

  • Permanent role working static nights Monday toThursday 10pm to 6am and Friday 8pm-3am, but the successfulcandidate must be able to work a 3 shift rotation Monday to Friday6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am on a weekly rotation as the workinghours will change in the near future.
  • 9 monthterm roles working 3 shift rotation Monday to Friday 6am-2pm /2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am on a weekly rotation as the working hourswill change in the near future.
  • 6 month termrole working 3 shift rotation Monday to Friday 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pmand 10pm-6am on a weekly rotation as the working hours will changein the near future.

Machine Operators are responsible forundertaking the following tasks:

  • Competently operating numerousmachines including packing and processinglines
  • Efficiently carrying out any assignedoperation or tasks, meeting all outputtargets
  • Effectively contributing to improvedline performance and efficiencies
  • Maintainingexcellent housekeeping, health & safety and hygienestandards
  • Resolving runningproblems/issues
  • Carrying out all testingprocedures for product as and whenrequired
  • Ensuring all stages of work arechecked against quality standards
  • Cleaning oflines after a changeover or for a shutdown
  • Following IWS ways of workingprinciples

Theideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience within manufacturing or thefood industry (highly desirable)
  • Level 2 inFood Safety for Manufacturing (desirable, although bespoke trainingis provided)
  • A good standard of literacy andnumeracy
  • The ability to take ownership andaccountability
  • The ability to multi-task andmeet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and accuracyis imperative
  • The ability to work independentlyas well as within a team
