Health & Wellness Manager - Forest Row, East Sussex

Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club are looking for an experienced Health & Wellness Manager to develop an already busy environment into a Club of Choice in the local area, whilst maintaining a welcoming environment for the hotel residents. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the Club, which includes a fully equipped gymnasium, free weights room, studio, indoor pool & Spa Bath, plus 2 all-weather tennis courts, and par 3 golf course. The Spa Manager, who manages 6 treatment room, a pedicure studio and Relaxation Lounge, will also report directly to you and be a key contributor to the overall club development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effective day-to-day operation of the Country Club & Spa in conjunction with the Spa Manager
  • Deliver a superlative guest experience
  • Maximise Membership, Spa and retail sales
  • Stock control and stock-taking in line with Company requirements
  • Staff scheduling in line with business levels
  • Develop a pro-active sales culture amongst all members of the team within the Country Club & Spa
  • Training and development of the team to deliver a sales-led and guest-satisfaction culture
  • Be part of the monthly Manager on Duty schedule.

Key Attributes

  • Proven ability to manage a small, varied team, preferably within a similar environment.
  • Sales oriented with a proven track record, preferably within a similar environment.   
  • Prepared to be hands on and multi-task when needed.
  • A good understanding of how to plan and organise work and staff efficiently to overcome the varying peaks and troughs of demand.
  • Experience of implementing and monitoring health and safety at work legislation.
  • A good understanding of the regulations and legislation concerning the operation of leisure facilities.
  • A self-motivated work ethic and a positive outlook on life.
  • The flexibility to work a variety of shifts during the daytime, evenings and weekends as required.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and to deal with customer feedback and complaints.
  • A high standard of personal presentation, integrity and attention to detail and be highly organised.
  • A knowledge of golf and associated rules would also be an advantage.
