The job holder is responsible for the following tasks:

a) The day to day running of the Finance function including: Management Accounts Cashflow Management Employee Issues (Liaison with HR / External resource) Tax matters (Liaison with External resource) Corporate legislation (Liaison with External resource)

b) Review of Group Monthly Management Accounts. Analysis of key performance indicators.

c) To ensure facilities exist to meet required cash-flow. Liaison with financial institutions.

d) Review and maintain control systems which ensure periodic project accounts present an accurate view of turnover and that costs are reasonably matched. (Long term WIP)

e) To monitor monthly performance and provide feedback to the Board.

f) To ensure all statutory returns are filed on time and all employee, tax and corporate legislation is complied with.

g) To ensure the balance sheet accounts reflect a true and fair view of the assets and liabilities of the Group, through maintenance of routine reconciliation programmes.

h) In conjunction with Department Managers prepare: Forecasts in order intake Forecast turnover and cash flow Prepare the annual financial budget for review Analyse costing information and produce labour cost-rate analysis

i) Company insurance matters. Company financial instruments (bonds). Liaison with the Commercial department on contract review and management.

j) Be aware of contractual issues and liaise with Project Management. Liaison with the Projects Accountant/Assistants and the provision of financial data.

k) Be aware of Sales issues and liaison with the Sales Department.

l) Be aware of Purchasing issues and liaison with the Purchasing Department.

m) Be aware of Tendering progress and participate in review of major tendered project work. Assist with framework tenders and provision of financial data (rates).

n) Group assets and investments, asset management and financing.

o) Company pension scheme matters.
