Pay Range: Dependent on Experience
Job Description:
As a Premises Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the school facilities and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This is a full-time, long-term position lasting until the end of the academic year, which would then extend into December.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the daily maintenance and upkeep of the school premises, including cleaning, repairs, and general maintenance tasks.
- Ensure that the school grounds are safe and well-maintained, addressing any hazards promptly.
- Support with setting up and taking down equipment for school events and activities.
- Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Liaise with external contractors and service providers as required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Respond to any urgent maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.
- Assist in the management of the school's security systems, including locking and unlocking the premises.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a premises-based role is essential.
- A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check on the update service is required.
- Strong practical skills in maintenance and repairs.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
- A proactive and reliable approach to work.
